In the May/June issue of JDEtips, we introduced you to Gregg Larkin, who gave us an excellent article, "Converting OW Explorer Menus to Solution Explorer: Tips and Techniques". As a followup to that article, Gregg shares with us his real-life stories and tips and tricks based on questions he has fielded. We are pretty sure we'll be seeing more of the Ask Mister Solution Explorer Guy tips in the future! Feel free to email Gregg if you have additional questions about Solution Explorer.

JDEtips is pleased to introduce Gregg Larkin, who has agreed to write a series of articles for us. We think you'll agree that Gregg's articles are a fine read. Gregg clearly had his users in mind when he designed the Solution Explorer menus for his ERP installation. In this article, you'll see demonstrations of how to achieve "just what the user wants" instead of just what the system wants to give you. In the July/August issue of JDEtips, Gregg plans to discuss the care and feeding of your Solution Explorer menus post-implementation. You may also want to take the opportunity to see Gregg's presentation on Solution Explorer at the June 2005 Quest Conference & Expo.

The OneWorld Explorer "menu interface" is going away, to be replaced by Solution Explorer. Gary explains how to define roles and associate staff to those roles, define task structures, and associate task structures to roles. All within the framework of a detailed narrative explaining how his company went from A to Z. With version 8.9 of EnterpriseOne, you will have to know this stuff!
